Water relief for hospital patients and staff

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Solomon Islands has delivered emergency drinking water to Gizo Hospital in Western Province amid water shortages caused by drier-than-normal conditions.

ADRA staff collected water from Kukudu Water Supply and transported 30 containers to the hospital to support patients and staff.

Poloso Bulehite, an ADRA volunteer assisting the team in Kukudu, said the water was delivered in a hospital truck.

“At the hospital, we asked patients and staff to bring their containers, which we filled with fresh drinking water,” Mr Bulehite said.

“We are happy to be part of this El Niño response by providing fresh drinking water for hospital staff and patients.”
