Adventist volunteers bring hope and help

Adventist Community Services (ACS) volunteer teams have continued to support flood-impacted communities on the mid-north coast of New South Wales, Australia.
Last week a group of 30 volunteers from Adventist churches in South NSW travelled up the coast to help in Kempsey, Port Macquarie and Taree—three of the areas hardest hit by the floods.
South NSW ACS director Kyle Morrison said the initiative came in response to calls for help from church pastors in the flood-affected areas. As local clean-up teams began returning to work, the need for extra support grew urgent. He said ACS leaders across South NSW quickly mobilised in response.
The volunteers travelled in a six-vehicle convoy, bringing with them donated supplies including shovels, nappies, food and water.
