Serving a vital need
A food pantry run by Adventists in Hoxton Park, Sydney, is serving a vital need in the community.
The initiative began in 2022 in response to the suffering that many people were experiencing following the COVID lockdowns and loss of livelihoods.
From the first day when 14 people arrived for a food parcel, until today when the need has doubled, people are greatly appreciative of this community service. They often share their problems with the workers. Many prayers have been said on their behalf — both with them and for them — and prayers have been answered.
There are a number of volunteers who help run the pantry, including a lady who initially sought a food parcel herself. Since then, she has been helping out each week.
