Presenters

Jeffrey Rosario

Jeffrey Rosario received his MA in Religion at Yale University with a concentration in the history of Christianity. He completed his PhD in History at the University of Cambridge where his research focused on religion’s complex role in shaping and influencing the trajectory of society and politics.

His writing has been published in academic journals like Diplomatic History (Oxford University Press) and the Oxford Handbook of Seventh-day Adventism, as well as the Washington Post. He has presented his research at the American Society of Church History (ASCH), American Academy of Religion (AAR), Historians of the Twentieth-Century United States (HOTCUS), and the Association of Seventh-day Adventist Historians (ASDAH).

He has taught seminars on religion for over fifteen years at college campuses, conferences, and churches. His ministry experience includes serving as pastor, evangelist, discipleship trainer, and instructor for Light Bearers ministry.

Kevin Burton

Kevin M. Burton (Ph.D., Florida State University) is the Director of the Center for Adventist Research and Assistant Professor in the Church History Department at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University. He has previously taught American religious history at Florida State University and American history at Southern Adventist University. Burton concentrates his research on minority religions, evangelicalism, and social reform in the United States during the long nineteenth century. He has presented numerous academic papers at conferences and published several journal articles, academic book reviews, and encyclopedia entries. His first book, Apocalyptic Abolitionism: How Immediate Millennialists Helped Abolish Slavery and Reform America is forthcoming.

Jared Martin

Jared is the Senior Pastor of Coastlife Seventh-day Adventist Church. He holds degrees in Construction Management, Ministry and Theology, and Adventist History. He is currently completing his Masters degree through Avondale University where he is researching the “readability” of Ellen White’s writings. In his spare time, Jared loves working out at the gym and playing tennis.
