After six gruelling weeks and more than 4000 kilometres, four Adventist women have pedalled their way into Bondi Beach—completing a world-first ride across Australia on a quad tandem bike.
Their journey began in Perth on September 1 and finished on Friday, October 10, with the team—Anna Lindbeck, Rachel Beaden, Sonia Allum and Louise Ginn—raising funds and awareness for suicide prevention through Gotcha4Life.
After completing the ride, Louise said she felt “so many mixed feelings—just elated”. Sonia described the finish as “surreal,” adding, “I know that we’ve finished, but I can’t quite get my emotions around that.” Anna was “stoked—on fire, top of the world, top shelf!” Rachel admitted she was “actually surprised by how many people came down (to Bondi), and just the support—it’s been amazing”.
As they rolled into Bondi, the riders were greeted by cheering supporters and well-wishers who had followed their journey online. Their inspiring effort even caught national attention, with the team interviewed on Weekend Today on Sunday morning.
