Tackling homelessness and isolation with kindness

Volunteers from the Nambucca Seventh-day Adventist Church are providing more than just hot meals to those in need. Every Wednesday, they serve hope, connection and practical care to individuals facing hardship and social isolation.

Their weekly outreach, recently featured on NBN News, tackles pressing issues of hunger and homelessness by offering not only food but also warm showers, clean clothes and the opportunity to enjoy conversations over a board game.

“We find that there’s a lot of people who are struggling with homelessness these days and so we’re working on that,” said Pastor Tim Turner. “We also want to provide for other people who just need some social interaction.

“We just want to give back to the community,” he added.
