PM attends cententary celebrations

Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape was among the government leaders who gathered with hundreds of attendees to commemorate the centenary of the Seventh-day Adventist in Bougainville recently.

This historic 16-day event celebrated 100 years of faith, service and community impact. Attendees ranged from a four-month-old infant to a 94-year-old great-great-grandmother, showcasing the inclusivity of the celebrations.

The theme, “Celebrating 100 Years of God’s Story on Bougainville”, resonated deeply with participants, uniting them in faith and gratitude.

Mr Marape and other government leaders shared messages of inspiration and a vision for the future.

Future plans include construction of the Green Valley Adventist Pioneer High School in Buin for grades 7–10; significant upgrades to other Seventh-day Adventist educational institutions; establishment of a vocational education and training school in Wakunai; and renovation of health centres in Kastorita, Wisai and Darupute.
