Free medical checks in Vanuatu
More than 100 staff from the Vanuatu Provident Fund have received free medical checks through the 10,000 Toes campaign.
For some of the employees, it was their first time receiving a medical check, believing they would only need one if they got sick.
Facilitated by graduate nurses from Vanuatu College of Nursing Education, the Vanuatu Adventist Health department and 10,000 Toes ambassadors, staff were provided with health checks at their workplace.
Vanuatu Provident Fund acting general manager Richard Edwin requested that the 10,000 Toes team provide checks for his staff after learning of their campaign and the free mobile health check services they offer.
The 10,000 Toes Campaign, an initiative of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the South Pacific, aims to address the growing problem of non-communicable diseases in the South Pacific.
