Stepping out for a good cause
Thirty-one “San Steppers” represented Sydney Adventist Hospital in this year’s City2Surf — the world’s largest fun run.
The team of doctors, nurses and other staff were among an estimated 90,000 participants who took part in the run on August 11.
The event covers a distance of 14 kilometres from Sydney’s CBD to Bondi Beach. While for some it’s a chance to prove their athletic prowess, for many it is an opportunity to simply have a bit of fun while raising money for a charity of their choice.
This year’s record field, the largest in City2Surf’s 54-year history, saw more than $3 million raised for charity.
“A huge thank you to everyone who signed up, donated and supported us along the way,” said Adventist HealthCare CEO Brett Goods. “Your generosity and spirit made all the difference.”
