Fun at the teddy bears’ picnic
Mums, bubs, grandparents and maternity staff gathered for Sydney Adventist Hospital’s annual teddy bears’ picnic earlier this month.
Held in the Fox Valley Community Centre, the fun included face painting, games and play equipment. There were plenty of stalls both giving away and selling a variety of treats, products and gifts. Popular kids’ entertainers The Beanies performed live on stage to a delighted crowd.
The event is an opportunity for families who have had a baby at the hospital in recent years to catch up with the doctors, nurses and other staff who cared for them during their stay.
“It’s a really special occasion and we’re always quite overwhelmed at how much people love the opportunity to come back,” said Brett Goods, CEO of Adventist HealthCare Limited.
“The San has been delivering babies for over 100 years. In recent years the hospital has delivered more than 2000 babies annually, and for many of our maternity staff this event is a highlight of their year.”
